Dia 25/09 realizou-se uma palestra sobre Alzheimer , com Beatriz Rossato da ABRAz – Associação Brasileira de Alzheimer, sub-regional Blumenau para os idosos que recebem atendimentos da secretária do Programa Pró-Idoso. Foi realizado para aproximadamente 70 idosos presentes. Onde puderam tirar dúvidas e ter informações onde procurar atendimento e assim ficarem alerta dos sintomas .
Segundo a ABRAz, com a expectativa de um crescente número de pessoas com esse diagnóstico, torna-se crucial melhorar a compreensão da sociedade sobre a condição, além de prestar apoio às pessoas afetadas , assim como a de seus cuidadores e familiares. Dr. Norton Sayeg médico, geriatra foi o fundador da ABRAz. A ABRAz foi inspirada no movimento internacional iniciado pela princesa Yasmin Aga Khan, que fundou a ADI - Alzheimer's Disease International, em 1984.
